Hi there!

Welcome to aNadventures

I’m aNa, a language loving citizen of the world. I created this blog in August 2012, shortly before moving to Izmir (Turkey) for my study abroad adventure that lasted 1.5 years.

Apart from my passion for writing and giraffes, I’m very much interested in exploring different cultures and in getting to know the world around me.

The centre of my attention has been mainly focused on Turkey but I intend to report from wherever life may take me. I’m currently based in Berlin (Germany), my home town of choice.

If you’re visiting this blog for the first time, you can start by having a look at my personal favourites:

  1. Hello aNa, nice to ‘meet’ you. What a rich cultural soup you are – Colombo, Germany, and now Turkey. Turkey is certainly on our list of places to discover. How wonderful to be an exchange student there – how exotic!
Thank you for visiting our blog, and for the ‘like’ on the post about Laos. There’ll be another post on Laos in the next couple of days.
Hope you continue to enjoy our ramblings.
    Cheers
    Alison

  13. So you were only able to spend a year and a half in Turkey? That’s just long enough to grow attached 😦 I am moving to Izmir myself soon with my Turkish husband…we wont be in Izmir permanently, but we plan to stay in Turkey! Inshallah! It’s nice to read about another expat’s adventures 😉

    • You’re right, time passed by very fast but Turkey will always be a part of me and I’m grateful for each moment I was able to spend there. I wish you all the best for your new life in Turkey. I’m looking forward to reading about it in your blog. 😉
